After several awards in Brazil (Janela Internacional de Cinema do Recife, Festival Internacional de Curtas do Rio de Janeiro) and in Portugal (Vila do Conde, Imago e Mostralíngua), the film continues to be rewarded, now in France, where it won the Great Prize for Short Film in Belfort. The film will also be screened at Vendôme Film Festival this week.
With this award, SONG OF LOVE AND HEALTH, co-produced by O Som e a Fúria with the French producer Les Films du Belier, sums a total of 6 awards in International Film Festivals in 2009.
SONG OF LOVE AND HEALTH introduces us to João, the only employee that we can see in Morais Key Cutting shop. He is also the son of the owner and he doesn’t hesitate about leaving the shop and following his heart’s whispers to spend coin after coin in the slot of a Love Machine. Marta of the Hills is a Fine Art Student who brings an unusual request. The key that João duplicates for her opens more than a single door.
