This season aims to go beyond Portuguese cinema “classicals” and give the chance to a wider audience to discover a new poetic and imaginative cinema outside Festivals circuit. Programming has been made by IndeLisboa Festival, the leading showcase for the finest independent talents emerging in Portugal.
On this occasion, Miguel Gomes feature films, OUR BELOVED MONTH OF AUGUST, about the heart of Portugal, symbiosis of documentary and fiction, and THE FACE YOU DESERVE, reflexion about the end of childhood, are described by Time Out London as stylistically bold films revealing Gomes’s love of storytelling. RUINS, Manuel Mozos documentary which intertwines the reading of varied texts with fragments of forgotten spaces and times, is pictured as a reflective essay which stalks out the places where legends are born.
